- Imagination
As we grow older, we lose things such as sight and hearing. But the thing we lose the most is imagination. We lose the magic of hearing Santa and his reindeer on the roof. We lose the excitement of the Tooth Fairy leaving surprises under our pillows. Remember the magic of childhood, because, like life, once you lose it you won't get it back.

- Who Picks?
Who decides who lives or dies on this world? Who decides who is rich or poor? Certainly not I, for if I did, this world would be a game that everyone wins. Everyone would be dealt a bingo card full of possibilities. This world would be unlike roulette, and everyone would end up a millionaire in happiness.

- To You
To all the parents, Rosa Parks quotes, "Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they have to meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome." To all the poets, hopers and lovers, I say simply, "Dream."

- Medley of Love
Martin said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." Martin is my hero, he is the father of kindness, the knight in shining armor who banished the fear to love and respect. Dream on, Martin, keep dreaming your everlasting dream.

- Loss
I loved my barncats. Alas, they have all passed away. They were good cats. Smart and witty and sly. They did their job, and more. They fixed my broken heart as if their purring and playful antics were glue and tape to ease invisible pain away. One passed because of old age. She was a respectful cat, always caught her share of mice. The other three were not so wise. They had attempted to cross the road to the farm on the other side. They never made it. Their souls leave pawprints in my soul.

- Happiness
Happiness is the breath of living, the motivation we all have to keep trudging through this treacherous journey called life. Without happiness, joy would be like the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny, just a thing to believe in for a little while. Happiness should last forever. Happiness should overwhelm sadness like a giant curtain. Happiness should be like a warm embrace. Happiness should surround you everywhere.
