Letter to Peter Carr 10-Aug-1787 - Thomas Jefferson

This quote was added by celiakozlowski
Fix reason firmly in her seat and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.

ALMOST a great quote... Love the personification of "reason" as well as calling it a child (affix in her seat). Unfortunately, the syntax makes too many mistakes to pull this one off.
