Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Bowl of Petunias - Douglas Adams

This quote was added by rh207
Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was, "Oh no, not again". Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.

//SPOILERS//: That bowl is actually a reincarnation of another being that was also killed by Arthur Dent. Normally, no one can remember many details of their prior lives, but because this man has been (inadvertently) killed so many times by Dent, that this has allowed him to recognize the trend. He becomes a villain later in the story.
