There's no narrative to your life, no arc, no reward for achieving all of the things you want. That kind of thinking is a recipe for a you-centric world view and is a very lonely road. Focus instead on the role you play in the stories of others.

Here's a question. If there's no narrative to my life, no arc, no reward for achieving all of the things I want, then there's no reason for such things to exist in any other people's life at all. What's the meaning of playing a role in the stories of others, when no one has a story to begin with?
