It's funny you said that as I had considered posting that same one and decided against it for the same reason. I imagined I'd get hateful messages from people thinking me monstrous to find the torment of a child amusing. But come on, it kind of is - at least how Jack Handy presents it :)

I liked this one, but I think a lot of people may not know the source, and would think it is meant to be taken seriously.
'One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said, "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that, deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting late.'

This was one of my favourite "deep thoughts". I miss Saturday Night Live being good - I don't find it funny at all these days.
