The Salmon of Doubt - Douglas Adams

This quote was added by user90179
This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in - an interesting hole I find myself in - fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!'

And on the flip side - A salmon wakes up in a puddle one morning, and being a salmon that requires fast streams and deep oceans, cries out: 'Bollocks, If this isn't a twat of a scenario, this world was not made for me, might as well die' and then the salmon jumps out the puddle and dies by suffocating (fish can do that right?).

Hmm. This puddle seems to have similar thoughts to many religious people... perhaps a coincidence.
