Try this to help your typing skills: whenever I go to an electronics store (or any place that sells a lot of keyboards) I try each and every one out to not only see what I think of it - but I type the same thing on each and every keyboard - I have a sentence that is personal to me that I use - you can type whatever you want and it doesn't have to be the same sentence - but that's what I do. Do this with every single keyboard you can test out (and by the way - the keyboard doesn't need to be hooked up to a screen to display what you're typing - you know when you make mistakes.) The purpose here isn't to test your accuracy but more the feeling for each style of keyboard so you know what fits you since everyone's hands are different and there are so many choices of ergonomic keyboards. But also, as I mentioned before, typing a good sentence or two every time you come across a new keyboard will increase your speed over time - especially in a consistent manner since your success in speed typing won't be limited by the keyboard you've been using for so many years. You want your average WPM to carry with you as the skilled individual and not, again, codependent on any one particular style of keyboard. I hope this helps!
