I cant keep my fingers on the homerow. I still use my pointer fingers. I try to stay onthe homerow, but my fingers just move and I still have to look down!!!!! :( I know its bad habbit, but how do I fix this?????!!!!
The homerow on the keyboard has little bumps on it that you can feel to help you stay on F and J keys with your index fingers. Also i feel like keeping your thumbs on the spacebar helps keep your hands positioned.

It's best to memorize the keyboard. As for having to look down to type a comma, period or slant mark, you can minimize this by pulling back the third finger on your right hand to type a comma, pulling back your 4th finger to type a period and pulling back your pinkie finger to type a slant mark.

Cool water can help you if with such a speed you fear your fingers may set on fire. Or thick leather gloves may help a little. And if you feel your fingers may rub skin off them i recommend good plastic gloves. Hope this will help.

my friend, practice is the secret behind the speed. try to write 500 words everyday. In two weeks time you will see the difference. I am not that fast but I am happy with my speed. I am still trying to improve mine. hope that helps
