How and how often do you clearn your keyboard?

After almost 2 years of accumulating dust other stuff, my mechanical keyboard started to feel 'sticky', especially the shift-key. I took all the caps off, soaked them in water and skin-friendly rinsing agent and brushed them individually until they were clean. I couldn't separate the dirty area beneath the keys from the circuit board, so I used pressurized air to clean that area and Q-tips for sticky stuff.

After re-assembly, it feels like new (which kinda takes some getting used to to be honest), but it was quite the procedure. How do you clean your keyboards, and how often?
I user canned air on mine every couple of weeks, and use a screen cleaner spray on a rag to clean the keycaps once a month or so.

I tend to clean my keyboard every two or three months or so. But it's mainly because I'm precious about having a $200 keyboard.

I mainly use Q-tips with warm water. For the air based cleaning. I have some special attachments for my Vacuum cleaner. I use that instead of pressurized air. I use the vacuum cleaner for most of my computer parts.
