I wish the typed input was close to the text being typed

I can't handle looking back and forth to check mistakes. Can it be made a bit more like

Sometimes I have so much lag that I'm way ahead of the input. So by the time that it registers that I made a mistake I have to go WAY back to correct it. That throws off my accuracy and my WPM. By that time, I just hit esc because it's totally skewed.
