I have been training on this site for a while and I love it. It does help me alot. however, my speed is stuck on 55-60 WPM and I cannot go beyond this speed. Anyone of you guys have any tips that can improve my speed. I would really appreciate your input.
great advice, I would think this would help with accuracy. cheers!

Getting past the tens is really the hard part. It took me a year and a half to get past 50s 60s 70s and right now I'm stuck between 80 and 90 WPM averages. It really just takes time. Your muscle memory grows very slowly after you get the hang of it at like 40 WPM. My best advice is to make sure that every time that you type you are in the same position. With your back straight and the keyboard and a certain distance away from you. I personally like the the keyboard as far away from me as I can get it while not straightening out my arm, but it's different for every body.

What I do is type in the speed I am comfortable with and make little mistakes for like 5 tests. And then after the 5, I'll go beyond my comfort zone and type as fast as I can for like 1-3 tests and then go back with the 5 tests.

The typing lessons are actually really good. They're frustrating since they aren't real words, but they do help with sight typing. The key to them is accuracy tho. DO NOT TRY FOR SPEED IN THE LESSONS. When I go to do the lessons, my speed drops down to about 30. The better you get with accuracy the more your speed will increase. Sometimes I'll sit for a few seconds while I'm trying to figure out where the next letter is on the keyboard. Like I said, frustrating, but effective.
