is it possible to change the UI while typing?

Basically it throws me off my game when typing because it doesn't highlight the letter of the word that I'm on, which is different to every other site I've used, and, more importantly, different to MS Word. It really distracts me and makes me forget which letter I'm on unless I take my eyes away from the text, which then further slows me down.
I really like this typing site more than any other but it'd be so much better if it would keep track of which letter I typed last.
I have no idea to be honest. :/
