Jobs for world class typists?

Any of you top end typists have jobs that pay you well specifically for your ability to type? The only job I can think of that falls along those lines would be a court reporter, but there has to be demand out there somewhere else, right?

Check your newspaper help wanted ads and job listings for your area on Monster to see if there are jobs available for quick typists. Maybe you can find a good data entry, secretarial or administrative assistant position.

Try Craigslist. Most of them want the foot pedal equipment and head phones, but the jobs are out there. Also, Google, transcriptions and see what you come up with. They are developing new software that allows you to type without the pedals and stuff. It's all online. Make sure you put in "telecommute" in your Google search. You'll find one. (That's why I'm hear so much, I'm trying to get my speed up for an interview - online - for a really good company.) Good luck!

I meant to say "here" not 'hear' ..., duh and sorry about that.

Most transcription jobs I've seen don't pay that much. From what I can tell, there isn't really a practical reason to have over 80-90 WPM. Unless you have endless amounts of work to do and are paid by the line or word making more money the faster you are. It seems as though nobody is willing to pay for top end talent which is sad :(.

I just did a telecommute transcription jobs search. It helps to include your city when doing your online search.

Well, quick typists generally could write blogposts or stories in a faster time than others. You might want to start a blog or write something, because fast typing really helps your creativity. Another really good job for a fast typist is if your typing speed is faster than around 100 WPM, you could transcribe audio content. If you're really feeling up to it, you could try doing so in real time.

You can do more than wait around for a typing job. Use your expertise to write a typing book. Also consider giving typing classes in your area or online.
