left more than right?

When I typing, I found that I use left hand fingers more than right.
Dvorak is slightly bias towards the right hand but I don't mind, I still find Dvorak much easier. I am a lefty by the way. I haven't been learning that long, plus, I'm middle aged so I am still swearing and plodding along, since I wasn't very fast at qwerty and I don't have to rely on my typing it wasn't much of a loss giving it up .

That's correct if you're using QUERTY. About 60% is done with the left hand. That's one of the reasons why this layout is crap.
There are optimized layouts like DVORAK (most popular, available almost everywhere) oder COLEMAK (even better, retains most hotkey positions, but less out of the box support from operating systems.

The real question is - does it matter? The fastest speed typists all use QWERTY.

Speed isn't everything, a thing I probably don't have to tell you since you're trying out that Karantsev fingering.
As for the different layouts, I'm already quite sure that I like Colemak more than QUERTY, but the switch takes longer than I'd thought. My progress in speed as well as in accuracy is far slower than when I first learned QUERTY touch-typing.
