Quotes - The Rules -

By lemontwist - updated: 11 years ago - 3 messages

Okay, so yesterday I decided to participate and contribute a quote, only to find someone has objected saying "No Lyrics Allowed - It's the Rules!"
My question: Where exactly are the rules? I ask, because I searched the site for this information Before contributing and couldn't find any! If there are rules on this site could the Administrators please make them a little More Obvious to members?
Thanks.
When one does choose a quote to type, one has the advantage of opting out of that particular quote. Often I review a quote before typing, and I think that naturally would effect speed; however, if one takes advantage to opt in or out of a quote to type, does that effect one's speed?

When you add a new quote below the word box where you type your quote you will see in red: "Song lyrics are not allowed" "Quotes shouldn't contain newlines" (Which I assume means you should

not

write your quotes like

this)

"Make sure the quote has no spelling error or bad punctuation"

Other than this and the word limit there are no rules. I think that the place where it is now is perfectly fine because it is right there where you add the quotes. I'm sorry that you didn't see it when you were there. I'm very glad that you decided to participate because as you can see there aren't very many that do participate more than once. There are no administrators, just a friendly user that wants to help.

Also, if you want to talk to someone who might be able to actually make a difference go to the bottom of the web page and click contact. I haven't yet had the urge to contact the owner of the website (or whoever your pleas are sent to) but this is because everything for the most part is very well thought out.

At first I was worried that my quotes weren't getting enough attention but I found that with time that even my measly quotes were being typed by people, which is definitely a very nice thought. It just took some time. If you ever have any more problems definitely post something onto the forum. I will still be here, and if there is anything I can do I will do it.

By the way I think I was the one who said that. I'm sorry if I discouraged you from taking part in the community. Have a good day.

Don't worry about it, I tend to not see for looking

I'll be sure to not do it again though! ;)

You haven't discouraged me at all, if anything you've encouraged me to find some better quotes. I'm still on the hunt and will post some soon.

Take care and Thanks!
