There are unique keyboard layouts for each language, that are designed to accommodate the various diacriticals and other characters specific to that language.

In addition, most layouts require the use of an AltGr key on Windows (or Option on Mac), to access certain special characters. Usually this is to access characters which are not commonly needed in a typing test, such as [ and {.

Your best bet is to change the layout of your keyboard in your computer's operating system to a Spanish layout when you are practicing in Spanish. This will give you access to keys that will add the needed accents, as well as direct access to the ñ character.

Note that the accent for Spanish is on a dead key. That means that when you type the key, it does not advance the cursor, but waits for you to type a second letter, in this case, a vowel, which will then type the appropriate character.

Both Mac and Windows have the Spanish layout built in. Mac actually has 2 layouts. The ISO version seems to be more common these days. Mac and Windows also have an easy way to switch between layouts.
