Special keys practice?

So I got this programmable keyboard, and it's pretty great. I made a custom practice that just gives me every possible character randomly. It's really weird but it does a great job at making me practice all those !@#$%%^& and numbers and my strange but excellent shift keys.

The problem is that my control, escape, and tab keys are also in a slightly new location for me. It's a real problem because I'm getting better with this keyboard but my ctrl/esc/tab skills are now a glaring weak spot. I'm all about the ctrl shortcuts, I code in vim so esc is critical (I have it where caps lock used to be) and tab is also critical when coding.

So... any tips on how to practice those keys would be awesome.
Time is the only possible way to get accustomed to it. Remember to set healthy habits with it and once you start using it ore and more, I'm sure your confidence will increase in it and it'll be much easier.
