Suggestion for improving the quality of quotes

I have an idea for a simple addition to this site that would gently encourage people to submit quotes of higher quality: Allow the quote pages to contain links to the source of the quote: movies or books on Amazon, or URLs to articles on the web.

This alone would cause people to pause and consider the wisdom of posting yet another "Anonymous" quote (or making up bogus attributions), when everyone here knows full well it is a product of the submitter's mind.

Thoughts?

I rarely find the quality of quotes to be an issue.

What is the driver behind this? Simply to counter quotes 'made up' by people or other 'quality' issues?

All the best,

Rob

To each his own. I find the majority of self-crafted "quotes" to be trite, repetitive, and hardly every saying anything interesting or profound.

Links without a really good reason seem a bad idea as it will attract link spammers.
