Trying to Take Typing Test in Another Language

How does one type in another language? I'm trying to, but because of the accents over certain letters, I can't get past those, it keeps coming up as an error. Do I have to have a special keyboard with accented letters in order to do a typing test in another language? Would love to master typing other than English!
