-75% my qwerty typing speed is pain. Heyoooo! This is my Colemak account. Of course, I am very very slow right now, but I hope to practice around 30 minutes every day if I get the time to. I try to not quit, as per usual. ^^ My first attempt at learning Colemak was actually around 2023. I've seen a lot of people on forums talk about the benefits of learning Colemak, so naturally, I wanted to give it a try. However, at that time I didn't have much patience to really learn, and so I quit and reverted back to using qwerty after only one or two days. Then in January 2025, I started to seriously consider learning Colemak again. I wasn't seeing much improvement with qwerty, and I noticed that typing for more than more than 2 minutes at a time was starting to hurt my fingers. Seeing the success stories a lot of other people have had with alternate keyboard layouts (shoutout to slow <3), and sensing that my life in general was sorta stagnating, I decided to take on this challenge and try to learn Colemak. And oh, dear, the first few days were absolutely painful! It felt like I had to relearn how to read English all over again. I even had to have a copy of the layout besides me so that I can cheat and look at where the keys are. Then, on day three, I started to notice some improvements. I'm looking at my cheat sheet less and less, and my typing speed broke 20 wpm consistently. Although my accuracy is still horrible, I'm beginning to be able to type some common words without really thinking about them, which is absolutely fantastic! If I end up successfully mastering Colemak, who knows what else I could learn if I really put my nose to the grindstone? Maybe this is just the start of it all... who knows! :3 The journey doesn't stop here! Onwards we go! >w- Anyways, thanks for dropping by, and I wish you the best of luck!
