I started learning Colemak in Oct 2016. I've been a long-time user of QWERTY and have tried DVORAK briefly before trying out Colemak. The tremendous loading on the right pinky killed my interest in DVORAK, and it seems like Colemak is fairing significantly better. However, I'm still making a lot of mistakes with the new layout -- something which I intend to minimise with online typing tests. Update: Colemak has worked beautifully, and my fingers have now adjusted to the new key orientation. Update2: I've been on Colemak for over 6 years now and have never looked back. The improvement in comfort has been immense and I have absolutely no regrets taking the pains to learn this new layout! |
