I've been practicing for about 20 years. Don't overestimate what you can do in a week, but don't underestimate what you can do in a thousand weeks!

Keep practicing, try NEVER to look at your fingers, and when you're chatting with people online, force yourself to type whole words. The more practice, the better.

Also, piano lessons or anything else that hones your small motor skills like that will help with coordination.
