Well the key to typing fast is to get more "deliberate" practice in which is to say the correct practice aimed at increasing speed.
If you have bad accuracy, then I would suggest starting off on the instant death mode races until you have mastered that. Once done, you can try to sprint a bit on the texts to increase peak speed.
