As a child, we were told to never give up and to do our best. This is a concept to help a child muster through younger years. But as an adult, I am telling you that it is important to know your limits and know when to give up. If you realize that you may be failing at something, that realization is a much more powerful attribute than denial of failure. To absolutely deny failure, is an absolute failure.

Success and failure are mere perceptions of the mass majority. If everyone conforms and says that A is successful and B is a failure, this is an accepted norm to humans. However, to a more perceptive person, the failure may actually be the success.

Some people think that just following a computer programming tutorial online qualifies them to say they are programmers. However, the true art of programming requires many hours of dedication. Given my professional experience, my estimate is about ten thousand "hands on" hours before one learns the mastery of this trade, not inclusive of the time spent learning the basics. And once that point has been reached, one then realizes you truly can't ever master this trade. Quite the paradox.
