Awww that's an absolutely adorable hamster! I absolutely love ascii art and emoticons, they're as expressive as emojis, if not even more! And yeah, I did find it online on a website called emojicombos, I would really love to create my own emoticons one day though v.v

Also interestingly enough, I found out that my approximate WPM can be calculated from my accuracy based on this formula:

WPM = 150 - 5 * (100 - accuracy)

This means that for every 1% decrease in accuracy, my WPM goes down by 5! I believe that no matter your skill level, accuracy is will always put a cap on your speed. If you look at your best tests, chances are they all have 100% or nearly 100% accuracy. My number one tip for improving typing speed will forever and always be 'Accuracy! Over! Speed!'

(if only I could follow my own advice qwq, to say my accuracy is bad on some days is an understatement)

To get better at typing, you must learn to type. This may seem obvious, but you really must become familiar and comfortable with your keyboard. Then I'd suggest frequently typing casually about the things that interest you. This will practice your spelling and punctuation. When you're proficient at that, you will be a confident typist. Then you can practice typing faster and see results.

seems like I'll be stuck on 70-80 wpm for a while... :P
but, if I manage to increase up to 100 wpm on avg, I'll be so happy! :3 (this is also my new year's resolution, to reach atleast 100 wpm..)

but, 70 wpm is still pretty good either way.

anyway, that was a quick review of my typing advanture.

When my fingers hurt after too much time on the keyboard, I... suggest you take a 15-20 minute break and then come back and try again!

When my fingers hurt after too much time on the keyboard, I start to use my tongue! Can you type 50 WPM with your tongue? I don't think so haha... My girlfriend loves it too. Do you have a girlfriend? I don't think so. If you did wouldn't you be spending time with her, instead of typing on a random website?

I'm really happy with the current state with how I type Graphite now!

I'm thankful :D
I do however need to improve my accuracy, including consistency...

Like, before I typed around 20~ wpm, and now 30-40 wpm!
Then again, it was around a few days ago of actually learning,
but either way, I'm happy, and I'm gonna continue.

it may seem low for now, but each progress, is a progress :3

Thank you, hiramisu! for wishing me luck, and encouraging me
to continue typing! <3 That's really kind!!

My tip to improve my typing speed but along with accuracy. Because I have developed a very bad habit of typing with backspace. Now I don't know how to deal with this problem. Because It is in now my nature like typing a wrong word first and then correct it by pressing backspace.

My hands seem to get tired easily... I wonder why. This is probably where I would take a break, and get back to typing eventually.

Oh, my 101th games are done. Yay!

Weirdly enough, I type quotes to de-stress myself and wind down after a long day. Whenever I feel stressed out, I put all that accumulated energy into typing, and it takes some of that stress off somehow. I can't explain it, it's just oddly satisfying to me.

Practice everyday, and focus on your accuracy. Better accuracy decreases typing errors, decreased typing errors allows for you to increase typing speed.

My tip to improve your typing speed is to...
Remember that there is a professionalism in typing. Why is this important? Since typing is similar to learning a sport or a musical instrument, then the same rules of development apply. Remember, an amateur is someone who practices until they get it right. A professional practices something until they can't get it wrong. When you get proficient at typing you'll find yourself accidently hitting the right keys.

Going from '"one-finger typing" to "touch typing" has a noticeable difference that no one talks about: you physically feel comfortable with the keyboard when you learn to type. I can only compare this to playing an instrument like a guitar or piano. This is also like getting better at a sport like catching a ball or swinging a bat. I think people overlook this when they use something like "muscle memory" to describe typing proficiency but this is what should be emphasized.
