These kids seem to have decided I'm the worst person in the world because I try to improve the experience of users on this site by pointing out errors in the hopes that they will be corrected. These same kids spend a ridiculous amount of time insulting me and threatening me with violence

I couldn't have said that any better myself @endvisible. It clearly states in the rules with posting quotes that they are to be error-free. Why people don't take the time to review/edit their quotes is beyond me. I'm then shocked again at the crazy responses I receive when I point out people's errors. If everyone could follow the rules of this site, we would all get along nicely and enjoy the site so much more. I believe that the vast majority of users of this site do make the effort to ensure their submissions are error-free, however, there appears to be a small group of kids on this site who seem to get off on posting ridiculous quotes/comments - they're just trolling around - most of them haven't even taken any typing tests on this site so I'm really not sure why they're on here except to cause trouble by irritating other users

Look guys, I'd really like you to consider this for a moment:

If you're an English speaker who knows how the language works, you can usually type without thinking about it. Your fingers just flow over the keys, and you have awesome speed and accuracy. This is because, on a good quote, you know how it's gonna be written and you only have to focus on the words.

On the other hand, imagine you're just flying through a quote one day, perfect as usual, and then your average gets all messed up because the quote's author decided that grammar (or syntax) doesn't matter. So you, the one typing, who is expecting everything to go the way the English language usually does, get thrown off and now it looks bad on your average.

Sure, you could just skip that quote, but we all know how common these mistakes are, so we'd just be getting friendly with the Escape key more than anything else.

Ya, it doesn't matter. My cousin died because died in a car accident, why would I lie about that. My uncle was shot, why would I lie about that? If you're going to correct pples quotes, then do it in a respectful way. Idc about what i do with my quotes and how many messups i make. Mistakes is everything we all make. I'm not sure how many times I need to explain this to you people - quotes should be submitted without errors so that people who are trying to improve their typing skills don't get tripped up by the many errors in your quotes. It's that simple. If you feel that you have something important to say in a quote, it should be important enough that you can take a moment to edit it prior to submitting it. This is common courtesy people.

I honestly don't have a clue why people fight over quotes. It's just a quote and if you are hating on people, that's not cool. If you're just correcting people to annoy them, that's also uncool. If you correct people to help them get better, good on you. What's the point of fighting through a website that is supposed to help people get better at typing, not settling arguments.
