I don't think that children are loved unconditionally. They are not loved for being themselves. Most parents love their kids for being what they (the parents) want their children to be. A lot of parents also think that their kids have to owe them something in return for raising them, even though taking care of their children is what they are supposed to do. At a very young age, kids learn to adapt so that their parents accept and adore them, and that's not okay. This is just my opinion.

I keep updating this quote (or there are multiple versions) because it says "kids" instead of "Keds". Not a huge deal, but I'm such a big The Office fan that I can't let it pass without fixing it lol. The award she's accepting is for whitest sneakers, that's why she's thanking her Keds.. She doesn't even have kids at this point in the show.

me trying to understand this:
- "The entire intellectual purport of any symbol"
Intellectuals believe _ but the writer disagrees?

- what is a general mode? Normal Behavior?

"conditionally upon all the possible different circumstances and desires, would ensue upon the acceptance of the symbol."
I think I need context for what this symbol is in order to make sense of this
what I'm getting so far is:
"Intellectuals falsely see it as a given that ____ symbol represents ___ behavior that most people will consider normal"
or
"intellectuals falsely claim that symbols are a product of normal behaviors"
Geroge Orwell would have loved reading this

For the first time I feel like the answer might be yes.... If I'd read this 6mo ago I would've had to fight back tears. Or maybe I would've hit esc. and stopped reading after the first question. Now I feel peaceful and mindful enough to say I am happy. Not perfect, not always happy, but always improving.
Point is, I think maybe They were right that it gets better. And don't be afraid of medication and/or therapy. I needed both.

"Do you know why I am so funny?" That would be cringeworthy even if she were, indeed, funny, which she's not (ask Dave Chappelle if you don't believe me).

It's sad to hear a religious argument as such. See the real reason we Christians don't rape or kill is because we understand the beauty of the Lord and the purpose he gave us. The only reason anyone wouldn't want to satisfy their flesh is because in their heart they care about anyone who would be hurt in the process. The fear of God is real, but is the love of God that transforms people too.
