Time goes on, and no matter what we do, we can't change that one simple fact. Whether we take a time machine in search of reversing it, it's always gonna keep going. Just like the universe. No matter how hard, how many years you spend trying to find the end of it's dark, empty, vastness, you'll never find where it stops. Even after time seems to stop for you, it doesn't stop. And once we realize that, than we'll finally realize how much we really need to treasure each precious, glorious moment.

But I understand now what Tori said about a tattoo representing a fear she overcame- a reminder of where she was, as well as a reminder of where she is now. Maybe there is a way to honor my old life as I embrace my new one. "Yes," I say. "Three of these of flying birds." I touch my collarbone, marking the path of their flight toward my heart. One for each member of the family I left behind.
