You can believe what you want, but that doesn't make it right. Each and every religion says to believe them and not other religions, so who is really the person in the right? Who's to say these books weren't just written and copied for fools to follow? Why would someone die just so they could "save us"? Religion just doesn't make sense. I'll believe it when I see Jesus rise from the grave or when I see Moses split the Red Sea with my own eyes.
maybe @plex_is_better is not shitting on your religion, but I certainly am. Organized religion breeds nothing but intolerance, greed and violence. The world would be a whole lot better without religion and its followers. And I mean this about any and all religions. Organized religion is a scourge of humanity
I'm not shitting on your religion, you believe what you want, as I said in the beginning. I'm just pointing out all the flaws in the religion, where it's easily proven to be wrong. If you don't like what I say, then I understand that. You go on your way and I'll go on my own. We both have different beliefs.
I hope you know that I'm jewish and I read the Complete Jewish Bible. So if you wanna test me the go ahead but none of this is made up so you do your research in the Bible which you believe is a Amed up book and then we'll talk about people splitting the sea and see Yeshua coming back to life
Religion was an invention created and established with the goal of soothing the mindless masses in a time of social/cultural upheaval.....with the added benefit of ensuring that the majority of resources be acquired/maintained by a newly-created ruling class. Anyone who believes otherwise should take the time to to do a little research...OBJECTIVE research
Just as every culture has created their own version of the "boogey man" and has used it as a method of instilling a fear of deviating from the standard, expected norm in their youth population, so too was religion created as a means of frightening/threatening the mindless masses into adhering to its own agenda
@gtrreaper43 that was the whole point, this myth was created for us all to believe that a man split a sea and another man is going to come back from the dead. Our guess as to when Jesus will come back? They tell us we don't know, and they will tell us that for generations and generations, because it will never happen. It was all made up from the beginning.
Alright Jesus will be coming back one day when? No one nows. But seeing Moses split the Red Sea will never be possible I personally don't care what you think it's your opinion but I'm just telling you what I know.
@user299009 not really... I mean clearly the quote is questing the authority of religion. However, nowhere in the quote does it say "religious people are ____" or anything like that. The closest the quote gets to that is throwing out the hypothetical that religion could have been made up for "fools to follow" however it is saying that that is a possible intention of creating a religion not that all religious people are fools. Saying that something has no evidence and that you don't believe in it doesn't mean you are putting it down. It means you are not lifting it up which shouldn't be required of people.
