The stinging sound of my mother's slap on Lindo's face echoes in my ear. The next couple of days are quite unforeseen and undesirable after I ruthlessly lie to my mother's face. That night, my heart races incredibly quickly as Lindo calmly rests next to me on my bed. I feel her inquisitive gaze on me waiting for me to react. My heart freezes in an uncomfortable position.
