He talked about the military and political situation very openly and said that England in future would be on the side of our enemies, therefore it was a necessity of state in 1905 either to exploit the favourable military situation, or to come to a real agreement with France over Alsace-Lorraine... He did not understand the ideas and ways of German politics, but thought that the time was suitable for the inevitable war, since Russia was out.
