The real me stared back from the mirror and wondered if parents only have a certain amount of stuff to pass on to their kids when they're helping to create them. Stuff like beauty. I supposed that because Jade was first, they'd given most of it to her, not knowing I might show up later and need some beauty too. It isn't fair. Jade is exactly right. I'm just Zoe.

The first thing that's definitely not my fault is that our last name is Reindeer. No one, not even Grandpa Reindeer, is quite sure how that came to be the family name. And even though everyone complains about it - well, everyone except my daddy-no one ever did anything to change it. As for me, I get tired of the jokes, especially around Christmas time.
