My tip for improving your typing speed is to first have good sitting posture.
Keep your back straight and relax your hands. Sit in a chair, not on a bed or on the floor with your feet on the ground.
Good posture tends to be a first step towards typing faster (and is better for your body too!), as well as having a decent keyboard you are comfortable with.
