Japanese Girls and Women - Alice Mabel Bacon

This quote ble lagt til av rhodaron
The Japanese baby begins to practice the accomplishment of talking at a very early age... We find many of the same sounds as in the baby language of English, with meanings totally different. The baby is not troubled with difficult grammatical changes, for the Japanese language has few inflections; and it is too young to be puzzled with the intricacies of the various expressions denoting different degrees of politeness, which are the snare and the despair of the foreigner studying Japanese.
