| To truly ‘still love’ someone, there has to have been love from the beginning. I’m not sure that’s ever been the case, and I don’t think it’s true now. I understand how comforting it can be to feel wanted and to know that someone is there for you, loving and supporting you unconditionally. It’s a lonely world, and that kind of warmth can mean everything. Over the years, I might have been that person for you, the one who gave you that feeling of being loved unconditionally. But let’s be honest with ourselves—there have been moments, too many to count, that made it clear your feelings weren’t the same. And that’s okay. I care about you deeply and will always consider you a close friend. I see in you the qualities that would make an incredible partner and father one day. But I’m not the woman you want (or have ever truly wanted) to share that part of your life with. I know what it feels like to be cherished by someone who sees you as their whole world, and I want to experience that kind of love, too. We both deserve to be with people who make us feel that way, and I hope you find that for yourself, just as I hope to find it for me. Take care and be well. P.S: it really hurt to be compared to the another woman. Never compare your future partner, at least don’t tell them… :) |
