I've known a few people who committed suicide, and a few others who were heading in that direction. The ones who are still alive are living because their loved ones cared enough to step in and help. Most of the ones who're dead now were pretty much left to their own devices. He was bipolar, but one of the three who died was a surprise to everyone. That argument regarding what suicide does to the loved ones left behind isn't worth much in my experience.

Suicide is COWARDLY and SELFISH. Everyone faces adversity and are mistreated at some point in their life. Regardless of what we experience we are ultimately responsible for our own actions. People should treat others with love and respect, but realistically that will never happen. Someone who succumbs to petty mistreatment from others only perpetuates the grief and misery onto their family and loved ones left behind.
