- Great Songs, Flop Shows
Some wonderful songs can be found in the scores of great flops that were commercial disasters on Broadway. Among these are "So Far," from Rodgers and Hammerstein's ALLEGRO; "Here's That Rainy Day," from Van Heusen and Burke's CARNIVAL IN FLANDERS; and the exquisite "All The Things You Are," from Kern and Hammerstein's VERY WARM FOR MAY. More recent examples include "I Cannot Hear The City," from Hamlisch and Carnelia's SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS; and the title song from Michel Legrand's AMOUR.

- Only Two Certainties
There are only two things in this life I know for sure: 1. That we are all related, and 2. That we should strive to be as kind as possible, under any given circumstances. That's it, that's as far as I'll go. Even something as seemingly obvious as the concept that we should work hard can be tricky; consider that we don't always really know what, exactly, we're working on or working towards, or whether it will turn out well.
