Ricky nodded, holding onto his pistol. The pair have been walking for hours, unsure how to escape where they are. This dystopian world disturbed them both ever since they woke up here. They know they must stick together to escape if they can.

Cynthia stares up at the bright blue sky, the sun casting a warm glow onto her face. The peaceful atmosphere, a drastic contrast to the sinking feeling in her gut. I've been single for 6 years which is crazy to think about. I do enjoy being single, but when my friends who are in serious relationships mention their significant others all the time, I feel lonely. I question why I haven't found anyone yet, but then I realize, I rather people question why I'm still single rather than question why I'm with someone who I settled for. And now I will be single for as long as it takes.
