I just got myself an early birthday present, a new life partner, the Glove80. I'm currently on my third day of the adjustment period from a normal, staggered keyboard (I was on a Langtu GK65) to this new columnar layout. I'm proud to say that I've gotten up to 50-70% of my regular typing speed through doing focused practice on this site at least 15 minutes a day. I'm loving the thumb clusters, btw. Why the heck aren't these more commonplace?! Our thumbs are strong, let it do work!

There are days when I can't get into the flow of typing. I get bothered by each small mistake I made, I notice that I lag in deleting the characters, I linger on them just a second longer than I normally would. There are also days where everything seems to just click in place. My mind doesn't care that I made a mistake, doesn't complain that I made a mistake; it anticipates mistakes, accepts it as part of typing, and moves on. Some days the mind is like still water, you can see to the bottom.

I've kind of wondered if there is a difference between cruelty done in ignorance and cruelty done for satisfaction. Would it be better if I took satisfaction in eating the meat of a factory-farmed chicken, or if I just didn't think about it?
