- Friends
Friends are great. They make me happy no matter how I'm feeling, and I always want to see them again. They're like socially acceptable drugs in a human form.

- America; As written by an American
I have fallen into the trap of believing the lie fed to Americans that our problems are important. People complain about wage gap when in reality they are complaining about different levels of privilege. Even a homeless person in America can beg for food. Some countries don't have food that people can beg for.

- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
He's got hands so long and white and dainty, I think they carved each other out of soap, and sometimes they get loose and glide around in front of him free as two white birds until he notices them and traps them between his knees; it bothers him that he's got pretty hands.
Marcus Aurelias
- Meditations
Learn to ask of all actions, "Why are they doing that?" Starting with your own. Stop whatever you're doing for a moment and ask yourself: Am I afraid of death because I won't be able to do this anymore?
Andy Puddicombe
- Meditation & Mindfulness
When we have presence of mind, we have presence of body; when we possess mental focus, we possess physical focus; and when we have an ease of mind, we have an ease of body.

- Joey Drew: Bendy and the Ink Machine
There's nothing wrong with dreaming. Wishing for the impossible is just human nature. That's how I got started. Just a pencil and a dream. We all want everything without even having to lift a finger. They say you just have to believe. Belief can make you succeed. Belief can make you rich. Belief can make you powerful. Why with enough belief, you can even cheat death itself. Now that... is a beautiful, and positively silly thought.

- White Hats Off
You're not the president! You don't weigh in on foreign policy. Your opinion doesn't matter! You are the first lady. Your job is to plant gardens and decorate rooms and let them blog about your clothes. You're ornamental, not functional. So don't come into the oval and try to use your brain, because no one cares.
Gone Girl
- Cool Girl
Nick and Amy will be gone. But then we never really existed. Nick loved a girl I was pretending to be. Cool girl. Men always use that, don't they? As their defining compliment. She's a Coo girl. Cool girl is hot. Cool girl is game. Cool girl is fun. Cool girl never gets angry at her man. She only smiles in a chagrin loving manner and then presents her mouth for fucking. She likes what he likes.

- Thoughts
Have you ever just sat down and thought about something? I experience this a lot. Most of the time, it is something that may have happened the current day. If this happens to you, be happy because you can have yourself some alone time without any distractions.

- Quotes
Stop writing quotes telling people what to write in their quotes. Oh no. I just entered a third layer of quote policing. I told you all to not write quotes telling others not to write quotes. I change my mind, write whatever you would like.

- Monsters
People say that when facing your monsters, be cautious to not become one yourself. But I think that's wrong. When facing your monsters, you should aim to become an absolute behemoth. Be stronger than your monsters, make them never want to come back. Only worry about losing your spine. If you lose sight of your morals, faith, hope, or whatever makes you different than them... that's when you're screwed. Fight the good fight.

To the LGBTQ community, does anyone else have the urge to come out to your parents just to see their reaction? I don't know I feel like it would be funny to see how they react, but then I realize my family is Christian.
Anne Sexton
- Yellow
When they turn the sun on again, I'll plant children under it; I'll light up my soul with a match and let it sing. I'll spoon feed myself spoonfuls of heat and everyone will be home playing with their wings and the planet will shudder with all those smiles and there will be no poison anywhere, no plague in the sky, and there will be a mother-broth for all of the people and we will never die, not one of us. We'll go on won't we?
Elizabeth von Arnim
- The Solitary Summer
I want to be alone for a whole summer, and get to the very dregs of life. I shall watch the things that happen in my garden, and see where I have made mistakes. On wet days I will go into the thickest parts of the forest, where the pine needles are everlastingly dry, and when the sun shines I'll lie on the heath and see how the broom flares against the clouds. I shall be perpetually happy because there will be no one to worry me.
Jenny Slate
What can I do? I can only breathe in deeply. I can only bellow in a church that is deep inside of myself. I can only blast a shell-shaped horn that would shake down the oldest buildings. I can only leap for joy in my sacred inner caves and ring out the message: I am alive. I woke up again. I might as well be sprouting leaves, I might as well be covered in little clams.
John Steinbeck
- Excerpt from The Grapes of Wrath
A harmonica is easy to carry. Take it out of your hip pocket, knock it against your palm to shake out the dirt and pocket fuzz and bits of tobacco. Now it's ready. You can do anything with a harmonica. You can mold the music with curved hands, making it wail and cry like bagpipes, making it full and rounds like an organ, making it as sharp and bitter as the reed pipes of the hills. And you can play it and put it back in your pocket.

- Using wealth to become invisible
Eighty-five percent of the world's wealth is controlled by one percent of the population. What do you think is going to happen when those people wake up and realize you've got all their money? You live in a mansion. You drive a ninety thousand dollar car. Look at me. This is a two hundred dollar suit. I wear a secondhand tie. I fly coach, not because I can't afford first, but because I'm smart. So look at you, and look at me, and tell me who's the richer.
Jack Handey
- Deep Thoughts
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world because they would never, ever expect it.
James Clear
- Atomic Habits - II
Self-help and self-improvement can be a bit of a hamster wheel. That is to say, it's easy to get trapped inside the idea of improving your life but without ever doing it because you're too busy reading a pile of How to Change Your Life books.
James Clear
- Atomic Habits
Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement. The same way that money multiplies through compound interest, the effects of your habits multiply as you repeat them. They seem to make little difference on any given day and yet the impact they deliver over the months and years can be enormous.
